PROVIDENCE, September 1, 2017 - The Rhode Island Black
Business Association (RIBBA) is thrilled to announce that Hilina
Ajakaiye will be the Mistress of Ceremonies at our Annual Business Awards
Gala on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Warwick RI.
Hilina Ajakaiye oversees operations throughout 20 stores in
the highest producing region for Stop & Shop's New England division.
Hilina is a recognized leader with over a decade of experience engaging
talent and associates leading them to reach their peak performance. Hilina
has been recognized nationally for excellence and continued achievement among
female movers and shakers in the North American retail food industry by
Progressive grocer. She is a member and committee lead within the Network of
Executive Women (N.E.W.) spanning more than 10,000 members, 950 companies, 100
corporate partners and 20 regions.
In 2016, Hilina was recognized locally as a 40 under 40
winners by Providence Business News (PBN). She is also an inductee into the Magical
Circle of People We Admire by the Big Brother's Big Sisters organization and
graduate of the Cornell University Executive Program for Food Service.
Hilina is a dynamic leader balancing marriage, motherhood
and career. Despite her busy schedule, Hilina makes time to give back by
serving on the board of directors for organizations such as: Progreso Latino,
Rhode Island's largest nonprofit organization serving the Latino and immigrant
communities, in the capacity of the Vice President and currently with The Big
Brother's, Big Sister's organization. Hilina is also co-founder of the upcoming
R.I.S.E, women leader's conference to be held in 2018 (RISEWLC.com).
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from UMASS Dartmouth finishing
at the age of 20. In 2017, Hilina juggled an intense schedule to earn her M.B.A
from Northeastern University.
Hilina is looking forward to participating in RIBBA's
gala as Mistress of Ceremonies. "I was so honored to receive the
invitation to be the Mistress of Ceremonies for something so important and
close to my heart," she said. I am so excited to participate in an
event that rewards hard-working, Rhode Island students with scholarships to
further their education."
