During this time of thanks and giving I decided to reflect
on the state of the Country one year after Donald Trumps’ election as
President. While there have been some positive actions coming from this
Whitehouse they are overshadowed by Trumps Foreign and Domestic Policy
Agenda’s, Immigration, Taxes and most recently his full support for a Republican
candidate running for Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ vacated Senate seat in
Alabama, that does not pass the smell test. He has yet to deliver any of his
campaign promises and has created a vacuum on the world stage for China and
Russia to vie for.
Trump’s Domestic Agenda
Donald Trumps’ overall agenda has been to dismantle any and
all policy’s written by the Obama Administration regardless of whom it may
hurt. He has repeated attempts by the Republican’s to repeal and replace Obama
Care that would leave millions of Americans without health care and has
threatened to eliminate the DACA Program and close America’s borders to Muslims
by calling Neo-Nazis and White supremacist good
people and has thrown the support of his Whitehouse behind candidates for
public office that are unfit to serve in public office such as Roy Moore who has
stated that Muslims should not hold public office and that during the days of
slavery families were stronger then today.
at the time, and has attacked the media anytime they have disagreed with him or
reported something that he did not like. He has reversed policy’s that have
served to protect the environment in Alaska and Utah by opening public lands
for development by energy companies, including an oil pipeline that threatens
the environment in at least three states and summarily placed tribal lands in
jeopardy. His recent tax plan to cut taxes on the wealthy at the expense of
middle and low-income Americans is just another example of how detached he is
from the challenges of ordinary Americans today.
Trump’s International Agenda
Donald Trump has pulled the United States from the Paris
Accord, The Iranian Nuclear Deal and recently announced a decades old position
of recognizing Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel setting off a fire storm in
the Middle East, further eroding America’s seat at the world table for peace.
He has insulted the leaders of several countries and has positioned America on
the brink of a nuclear war with North Korea. He has threatened to send American
troops to Venezuela and embraced some of the world’s leading tyrants as great
leaders. He has reversed diplomatic relationship with Cuba that Obama recently established
after years of economic sanctions that have not worked and has suggested the
need to maintain Guantanamo Bay Prison. Trump continues to downplay Russian involvement
in our elections and has repeatedly undermined our intelligence community both
at home and abroad. He has been rebuked by at least leaders of countries that
have been America’s allies for decades and has re-twitted racist and bigoted
news reports by foreign agents as fact.
Trump’s Personal Agenda
He has been personally accused by as many as 20 women of
sexual assault or inappropriate or unwanted behavior and has publically
mimicked and made fun of a disabled news reporter and suggested that mobs
attending his rallies should physically attack and remove hecklers. He has
disparaged Mexican immigrants, made vulgar comments about women during speeches
both on TV, during official press briefings and of course on Twitter.
Whitehouse conducting the business of the people. As President he has appointed
cronies and family members to positions that would appear to be in conflict
with the role and responsibility they are charged. Several of his appointees
have been fired, removed or otherwise resigned from their positions due to
conflicts of interest and fraud.
and to date has not produced his Taxes for the American public to see, as every
President in recent history has done.
His family has continued to use the weight of the Presidency
to further their investments both in America and overseas and like the
President, conveniently forgets pertinent information when questioned by
investigative authorities and has attempted to obstruct or otherwise hinder the
investigation into his involvement with Russian operatives during the
by his actions his contempt for the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights and
above all American values. History and the world will judge the Trump
Presidency as it has for all Presidents before him however, the American public
must live with his leadership now, and prey that he does not tweet us into
either civil or world war.
