Mayor Jorge Elorza today announced the hiring of David Allard to manage his
re-election campaign for Mayor of Providence.
"David is a
well-respected leader in our community who brings valuable experience in state
government and on political campaigns up and down the ballot. We are happy to
have him leading our campaign team", said Mayor Elorza.
Allard, a former
public school teacher, formerly served as Outreach Manager for Governor Gina
Raimondo, Field Director for Brett Smiley's 2014 campaign for Providence mayor,
and was active in supporting several other campaigns including the successful
2013 campaign for marriage equality in RI. He was also an adjunct professor of
Education at Roger Williams University. He leaves his current role as Manager
of the State's 3rd grade reading goal at RIDE on Friday, February 23rd and will
officially begin his new role as campaign manager on Monday, February 26th.

each of our neighborhoods."
Allard received his
BA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Spanish and his MA from the
University of Rhode Island in Spanish.
