Incorporated launched its Cisco Networking Academy expanding learning
opportunity and tech-skills certificate program for the Introduction to Network
and Routing and Switching Essentials courses earlier this year. The Cisco
Networking Academy is available for students, parents of TIMES2 students, to the general
public, and to participants who are on the Department of Labor and Training’s
Eligible Training Provider List.
Cisco Corporation (CISCO) has a market cap of
$189 billion and is the dominant company behind the equipment that powers the
internet. Individuals with skills and/or certifications in Cisco
technology can fill one of the IT industry jobs that number in the hundreds of
thousands. Alternatively, students can use the knowledge and skills to
augment their collegiate pursuits.
“TIMES2 is preparing students for
the jobs of tomorrow, today,” said Dr. Rudolph Moseley Jr., TIMES2 Executive
Director. “Educating our students in real-world technology skills that
are in demand by employers increases our student’s confidence and their
worldview of what is possible.”
Introduction to Networks, Routing and Switching
Essentials courses will be taught over 12 weeks for a total of 90 hours at the
location of the Academy. Times2 will offer the remaining two classes in Cisco’s CCNA Routing
and Switching program in the near future.
