Falls – On Monday, August 20th, Mayor James A. Diossa, US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, and US Congressman David
Cicilline formally welcomed Massachusetts-based JJL, a property development
company, in the ground breaking of new residential lofts.
“Over the past few years, the City of Central Falls has come
back from a devastating bankruptcy. Now, we have emerged together as a
community and have not looked back,” said Mayor Diossa. “The fact that
individuals such as Jason (Li, owner of JJL) from outside of Rhode Island
believe in our vision shows the potential that we have going forward!”
JJL decided to enter the Central Falls market from Newtown,
Massachusetts due to the City’s revival and opportunity through the Pawtucket
Central Falls commuter rail station. Another selling point for the company is
the close proximity
to the highway, downtown Providence, and to Boston, it is clear that this is
the next big destination.
“We are here because of the huge potential that we see in
Central Falls. We 100% believe in the vision and the future,” said JJL owner
Jason Li. “Thou from the outside, we see the many advantages that the City has
will be redeveloping two dilapidated properties by converting them into
residential units. The mill on 548 Roosevelt Avenue, the former home of former
jewelry company Sanford White Co, will consist of 14 single and two bedroom residential
completion of both properties is January 2019.
