  • Beacon Mutual Seeks Claims Manager, Workers’ Compensation

    Beacon Mutual Insurance is seeking an
    experienced workers’ compensation professional to lead a team of claims
    adjusters and support staff.   If you
    enjoy the challenge of leadership; have a deep understanding of best practices
    regarding claims management, and workers’ compensation laws; and possess the
    passion and inner drive to achieve Beacon’s commitment towards excellence then

    The Successful Candidate



    In addition to workers’ compensation claims
    knowledge and experience with the laws and regulations surrounding workers’
    compensation, you will need excellent communication and team building skills to
    lead and mentor a staff; critical thinking skills to make decisions based on claim
    related issues; relationship building skills to collaborate and build trust and
    professional relationships with senior managers, staff, and customers; and the
    leadership ability and drive to keep moving toward continuous improvement. 



    Qualifications



    RI Adjusters License or willingness to
    obtain one within three months.



    Bachelor’s degree and five years of
    related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.



    Demonstrated advanced knowledge of
    workers’ compensation claims handling procedures, including coverage
    verification, compensability, investigation, timely and adequate reserving,
    settlement evaluation and processing, and litigation management. Knowledge of
    Medicare set aside processing.  Knowledge
    of medical terminology and procedures with particular knowledge on orthopedic
    injuries. 



    Strong analytical skills to identify
    trends, report on metrics, and analyze risks.



    Sound judgement to evaluate and
    consider all alternatives and recommend appropriate course of action. 



    Communication skills, both written and
    verbal, in order to interact with others in a diplomatic, respectful manner.



    Knowledge of the legal process related
    to workers’ compensation claims



    Knowledge of fee schedule guidelines and treatment protocols.
