The recent OP-Ed published by the NY Times and the publication of Bob Woodward’s new book “FEAR Trump in the Whitehouse” confirms for most American’s that this Administration does not have a handle on the Executive Branch. Chaos has been the name of the game for the Trump administration from the start, from Flynn to Tillerson, to Spicer and Pruitt etc.
Every Administration has had some early adjustments in staffing but not to the extent that this one has had in the first two years of a 4-year term. It should be of no surprise to the country since his campaign rhetoric was to break things up in Washington and to drain the swamp. The only thing that is a surprise to Trump I’m sure is that the Swamp was his own Senior Executive staff.
The fact of the matter is that there are few people around the country that are qualified to fill Executive positions that are willing to work in this administration. Being appointed by a sitting President to a key Senior Executive level position has historically been a great honor, today not so much. The problem for this President is that he lies so much staffer’s are not sure how to react to his tweets versus his public or private orations.
The bottom line is this, if the NY Times anonymous Op-Ed is accurate thank God that there are adults in the room ensuring this President does not make an ego boosting mistake and put our national Security at risk. Further because our Democracy is in jeopardy under the leadership of this President I applaud those senior level executives that are minding the shop. Since this President does not like to listen to experts and shoot from the hip, let’s hope those thinkers in the West Wing are there to protect the country from Donald Trump.
There are those who believe that whoever the watchers of freedom and democracy are in the Whitehouse should be hunted down and convicted of committing treason, I say hogwash. Exercising one’s freedom of speech is not a treasonous offense regardless of where you work and or for whom. On the contrary, if this or any other President’s actions or inactions are a threat to national security those in position shave a responsibility to sound the alarm.
But I’m Just Saying!
