Donald Trump defended another tyrant this past week in the form of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS). The apparent murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi Consulate in Turkey is just another case of Trump protecting another tyrant. The question is why?
His initial comment when asked about the allegation was we don’t know for sure that the Saudi leadership was aware of such an atrocity; however if they were aware of the this activity, any sanctions taken by the USA would not include the recently negotiated Arms deal by son-in–law Jared Kushner. Does this policy set by this President reflect the morals of Americans? I say NO.
This non-action by this President is just another case of one tyrant protecting another by ignoring what is becoming obvious to everyone else, and reducing condemnation of the action to a monetary value, related to a supposed Arms Deal. This is just another case of Trump moving away from what the USA has stood for, for decades.
The American people have to make a decision about the type of moral authority they want to invest in its government in November. Hopefully the voting electorate will send a strong message against Trump and his silent supporters that this is not the image Americans want to elect as their representatives on the international stage. That we are a people of higher integrity than Donald Trump is, and therefore willing to make a change in our Congressional leadership and hopefully in the Whitehouse come 2020.
The fact of the mater that this Administrations policies have generally benefited the super rich, corporations and not middle and low income Americans as he promised during his campaign for President. His tax policy is now threatening the country’s health care system and social security by trying to offset the tax shortage on the backs of those of us depending on these federal benefits. I hope that the American people wake up and vote to save Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and the America that respects the values written in the Constitution of the United States, and reject those candidates who would support Trump and vote accordingly.
But I’m Just Saying!
